Trail Crews – Professional & Volunteer

This program is designed for trail crews and volunteers who use chain saws to remove blow-downs, build bridges, and fell small to medium sized trees. The instructors focus on situations that crews are likely to encounter and present techniques for working safely with chain saws.

What is Covered

Level 1: Personal protective equipment, basic saw handling, bucking cuts and removing blow-downs, felling techniques for small trees.

Level 2: Routine saw maintenance and daily safety check, chain sharpening, bucking cut practice, and felling small trees.
